Sonomatic, AUAV, and Geo Oceans have collaborated closely with Shell and ABS to achieve a groundbreaking milestone: the world’s first unmanned entry 5-year COT inspection. By leveraging advanced robotics, ROV, and UAV technology, we successfully met the class requirements for a 5-year inspection, accrediting the tanks without the need for physical entry.
To date, we have accredited four tanks, and as of May 2024, we have received our RITS (Remote Inspection Technique Service) accreditation from ABS. This accreditation allows us to use these innovative methods as alternatives to traditional techniques, enhancing efficiency and significantly reducing associated risks.
This achievement exemplifies how AUAV is not only at the forefront of rapidly advancing technology but also setting new standards for future inspections. Our ability to fully harness these technologies is paving the way for more efficient and safer inspection methods.
